The B.I. Project - Part 1

Back in 2003 members of wallace-l who received a copy of 'The David Foster Wallace Reader' found a special gift in the package. Over the next few weeks The Howling Fantods is making that gift available to everyone.
The first three Brief Interviews (2, 3 and 11) can be downloaded from The Brief Interviews Project page . There are 18 in total, and they'll be available for download here at the Fantods. I'm not sure if I can keep them up forever, so download them while you can.

If you sign up for any of the RSS feeds you'll know about the others as they become available.

Finally, once you've had a listen to the first three why not sign up and comment on them in this thread, we'd love to know what you all think!

This is cool - the transfers sound good, and I'm glad you liked my intro to the recordings. I'll be curious to see if you get much download traffic.

This is a great project, but I can't seem to download or stream (not that I would stream) the content. I keep getting a message saying that you don't accept "driect requests." All I'm doing is right click, as I would to download any file. Any ideas?

Hmm... The direct request block stops people from linking to the files from outside of the www.thehowlingfantods.com domain. What browser are you using? Are you using a download manager of any sort? A firefox plugin? They are certainly working for other visitors. If you still have issues leave another message and I'll remove the block temporarily.

I think once the traffic has died down a bit and I'm through posting the rest I'll take the protection off mp3 files to make it a little easier. I didn't intend to make it work with firefox only.

I was actually able to download and listen to these. I was excited because of the enthusiasm shown for them on the post, but I wasn't really blown away. I don't know what I expected, but it may have to do with not being a huge fan of hearing pieces from my favorite book in an audible voice. I wish I could relate to the guy that put this together, but to me DFW is meant to be read, not listened to.
